Occidental College is a member of the Institutional Documentation Service offered through the College Board. The IDOC service is of no cost to students and will offer families a secure portal through which to upload sensitive financial information.
We are no longer able to accept application materials containing personally identifiable information (PII) submitted directly to our office via email. Students will now create an account with IDOC in order to upload their documents, including copies of completed and signed federal tax returns (with all schedules and statements), W-2s or 1099 forms, as well as the Renewal Application (formerly Parent Supplement) and other forms containing PII.
The FAFSA is required in order to create a profile for the student on IDOC. As such, students must first submit a valid FAFSA before they can access the IDOC portal. Once the FAFSA has been received in our office, we will submit student information to the College Board in order to create a student account login.
Students must re-apply for financial aid by our deadlines in order to be considered on time. Students who apply late risk not receiving institutional financial aid. The financial aid deadlines for the 2019-2020 academic year have passed. If you require financial assistance for 2019-2020, please contact the Financial Aid Office.

Your FAFSA is partially completed from the information you submitted last year. Review and update your information, then sign and submit your FAFSA. Make sure to list Oxy, federal school code #001249.
Complete this online application through your myOxy web portal, it only takes a few minutes. The 2020-2021 application will be available in early January 2020. If you are returning after a leave of absence, please contact the Financial Aid Office for a paper version of this application.
Have your custodial parent(s) download and complete the Renewal Application*, then upload it to IDOC.
Submit copies of 2018 parent(s) and student taxes and W-2s via IDOC.
What Happens Next?
Once your file is complete, we will review the information you provided. If anything else is required after we review your file, we will notify you via email. After we finalize our review of your file, we will email you an aid offer letter. Applications are reviewed between May and June for all returning students. Our goal is to email all aid offers by July 1st to the student's Oxy email address and the parent email address (as provided on the FAFSA).
