Welcome to Oxy! There are resources available just for you.
Whether you are a degree seeking student, or studying abroad at Oxy, the International Programs Office (IPO) is a resource for you! In addition to the information below, please refer to correspondence from the International Programs Office for special instructions regarding International Student Orientation and arrival dates.
Student Visa Information
Please note that all student visa paperwork will be processed after May 3. Please check for an email titled "Your I-20 paperwork from Occidental" sent by email@example.com for next steps on how to request your I-20.
International Student Orientation
The International Programs Office will be in communication with all new international students about International Student Orientation in July. Students that have spent more than two years in the US, attended high school in the US, or are Canadian are not eligible to attend International Student Orientation (ISO) due to social distancing spacing limitations. ISO move-in begins August 17 with programming starting August 18. Please contact IPO@oxy.edu with any questions.
Vaccination & Move-In Date Information
Occidental does accept international vaccines. Fully vaccinated students not invited to attend International Student Orientation are asked to arrive by August 23, in time for New Student Orientation. To submit proof of vaccination, log into myhealth.oxy.edu using your Oxy credentials and enter your COVID-19 Vaccine Information.
International students who are not vaccinated must arrive by August 1 to get the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, allowing them to be fully vaccinated by the start of International Student Orientation on August 18. Unvaccinated international students not eligible for International Student Orientation must also arrive by August 1 but are not required to attend ISO.
Unvaccinated individuals who prefer the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine must arrive by July 15 to be fully vaccinated by the start of sessions. Please note that housing cannot be guaranteed for students this early (July 15), however, and students will need to find their own accommodations before being able to move into the residence halls. Students entering the US on a student visa are restricted to arriving 30 days prior to the first day of classes and are not eligible for the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine.
Please contact IPO if you are interested in arriving early.
