Instances of alleged hazing can be pursued through the legal system. Aside from the courts, Occidental College addresses instances of hazing by investigating such reports.

Please note, the College may place organizations and/or individual students through the conduct process. This means the group as a whole, leadership team, or other membership could be required to participate in the conduct process. Potential outcomes for individuals and/or groups found responsible for hazing include:

  • Warning
  • Censure
  • Probation
  • Suspension
  • Permanent separation from the institution
  • Restitution
  • Removal from on-campus housing
  • Educational sanctions

Definitions of these outcomes along with a full outline of the conduct process can be found in the Code of Student Conduct.
